From 2016 until 2019, I taught English at an all girls high school in Tokyo. It was a wonderful experience, and one of my favourite parts of the job (besides interacting daily with all the sweet girls), was creating fun teaching resources. For instance, I made Autumn vocabulary karuta - a variation of a traditional Japanese card game.

I made 6 sets of 20 cards each, featuring Girl and Rabbit illustrations, so that classes could get into 6 groups to play. Then I would read out the definition of one of the Autumn words at random, at which point the girls would compete to be first within their group to snatch up the corresponding card. At the end, the students in each group with the most cards, were the winners.

The girls would always get really into it, and had a fun time getting familiar with all the autumny words.
